Who We Are

We work primarily with marginalised young people who are often in minority groups for example, DisCAIM is dedicated to empowering To support neurodivergent children effectively, parents play a crucial and foundational role by intentionally fostering a positive environment that not only embraces differences but also celebrates individuality. By providing consistent encouragement, patience, and deep understanding, they create a safe space where their children feel valued and empowered. This nurturing approach helps neurodivergent children build confidence and develop essential skills, enabling them to thrive and succeed in all areas of life., caregivers, educators, and anyone who interacts with neurodivergent children and young people. We recognize that these individuals often have unique ways of experiencing and understanding the world, and our mission is to provide guidance and support that respects these differences. Our approach is grounded in the belief that supporting neurodivergent individuals requires methods that may be different from traditional ones but are equally valid and effective. By offering tailored resources, strategies, and insights, CAIM aims to foster an environment where neurodivergent children and young people can thrive, feel understood, and receive the encouragement they need to reach their full potential. We emphasize respect, patience, and empathy in all interactions, encouraging a shift in perspective that views difference not as a deficit but as a valuable aspect of human diversity. Through education and advocacy, CAIM supports those around neurodivergent individuals in learning how to communicate and connect in ways that honor their unique needs and strengths.abled and youth Neurodivergent youth, young carers and young people in the criminal justice system and or experiencing socio-economnic poverty and deprivation. Young people who face complex and far-reaching challenges in their lives.

Whilst much of our work is directly with young people, it is not limited to this and the programs, projects and training that we offer, we take a holitic wrap around approach to the various actors in a child’s life, following URI Bronfenbrenner/s Ecological Systems Theory of Child Development. Following the idea hat it takes a village to raise a child - we believe it takes a whole and we aim to support that society in helping young people achieve their potential and to feel safe and valued.
